The Department of industrial policy and promotion (DIPP) was renamed as the  department for promotion of industry and internal trade.

Regatta  trophy

INS Dronacharya team won the Regatta  trophy in the “Kochi Area Pulling Regatta  2019” of the  Southern Naval Command (SNC).  

The boat pulling Regatta  is one of the most prestigious and traditional navel Sporting activities conducted by the Navy. 

Anti submarine warfare (ASW) School got second position and Diving School secured the third position.


Dolphin state aquatic animal

The endangered Indus river dolphin was declared as Punjab’s state aquatic animal.

In Punjab the Indus river dolphin commonly found in Sutlej and Beas river.


National agricultural higher education project

The Indian Council of agricultural research (ICAR) launched the National agricultural higher education project (NAHEP) .

It was done to attract talent and strengthen higher agricultural education in the country.

This project will be funded by the World Bank and the Indian government on a 50:50 basis.

The second Indian agricultural research Institute (IARI) was established in Barahi, Jharkhand


ASEAN- India  youth Summit

 Second  ASEAN- India  youth Summit organised  in Guwahati,  Assam.

Theme ASEAN- India youth Summit isConnectivity: Pathway to Shared Prosperity”.

India Foundation, in collaboration with ASEAN Secretariat and Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India (MEA), organised the first India-ASEAN Youth Summit 2017.

This was done to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the ASEAN-India Dialogue Partnership in 2017.

It was themed on “Shared Values, Common Destiny.”
